So if payload.length <= CHUNK_CHARS but > 250KB, it will fail. We need to chunk anything that exceeds a safe per-field limit, like 200KB or 240KB.\n\nAlso need to check weights and generated - those might also exceed limits. The weights consist of arrays of size INPUT_SIZE=1728, HIDDEN=64, LATENT=8. The weight arrays are:\n- enc1: 1728*64 + 64 = 110,656 + 64 = 110,720 numbers\n- latent: 64*8 + 8 = 512 + 8 = 520\n- dec1: 8*64 + 64 = 512 + 64 = 576\n- dec2: 64*1728 + 1728 = 110,592 + 1728 = 112,320\n\nEach number as JSON string could be ~8-15 chars. Total maybe ~1.7M chars, which is > 250KB. So weights definitely need chunking too.\n\nGenerated strokes from vectorize may also be large, but likely under 250KB when compressed, but we should handle chunking for it as well to be safe.\n\nThe fix should make a generic chunking helper that works for any collection and any payload. Need to keep backward compatibility with existing records.\n\nAlso the error could be from the `drawing` record `strokes` field being too large even when compressed. So set CHUNK_CHARS to something safely under 250KB, like 200,000 characters (since JS strings in UTF-16 may be 2 bytes per char, 200K chars = 400KB? Hmm, need to think).\n\nActually the \"250kb\" likely refers to the total record size. The compressed `__c` string uses UTF-16 encoding. Each character is likely 2 bytes minimum, so 125K chars would be 250KB. But other record fields add overhead. Let's set CHUNK_CHARS to 100,000 to be safe.\n\nWait, LZString.compressToUTF16 produces a string that is shorter than the raw but each char is UTF-16. The storage probably counts the JSON string length. To stay under 250KB, we should chunk when payload.length > SAFE_FIELD_CHARS, where SAFE_FIELD_CHARS is maybe 80,000 or 100,000.\n\nNeed to update storage.js:\n- Change CHUNK_CHARS to 100000.\n- Ensure `addDrawing` chunks if payload exceeds this.\n- Make `saveWeights` and `saveGenerated` also use chunking if needed.\n- Update decodeRecord to handle chunked weights/generated? But current decodeRecord is specific to `drawing` with `drawing_id` chunks. Need a generic chunking approach.\n\nBetter design: create a generic `saveChunked(collection, payload, extraFields)` and `loadChunked(record, chunksById)`. But the chunks reference the parent by `parent_id`.\n\nActually simplest:\n- For any record type, we can create a parent record with `chunked: true, totalChunks: N` and chunk records of type `chunk` with fields `parent_id`, `index`, `data`. Use a single `chunk` collection for all chunk types.\n- Then decode any record: if `chunked`, gather chunks where `parent_id` == record.id.\n\nBut existing data uses `drawing_chunk` collection with `drawing_id`. We need backward compatibility. We can keep the drawing_chunk for drawings and add new generic chunking for weights/generated. Or we can make a generic helper and also support the legacy drawing_chunk.\n\nLet's make a generic chunk store: `room.collection('chunk')` with fields `parent_id`, `index`, `data`. For drawings, maybe also support legacy `drawing_chunk`.\n\nActually to avoid complexity, since current data may already exist in drawing_chunk, we can keep drawings using drawing_chunk and make weights/generated use a new generic `chunk` collection.\n\nBut simpler: change the system to use `chunk` collection for all, and keep decodeRecord support legacy drawing_chunk. Since the app may have existing drawing_chunk records, we need to decode those. For new saves, use `chunk`.\n\nImplementation plan for storage.js:\n\n1. Define constants:\n```\nconst MAX_FIELD_CHARS = 100000; // chunk size\nconst MAX_TOTAL_CHARS = 4 * 1024 * 1024;\n```\n\n2. Generic chunk helpers:\n```\nasync function saveWithChunks(collectionName, payload, extraFields = {}) {\n const payloadStr = JSON.stringify(payload);\n if (payloadStr.length <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS) {\n return await room.collection(collectionName).create({ ...extraFields, payload });\n }\n if (payloadStr.length > MAX_TOTAL_CHARS) throw new Error('Exceeds 4 MB limit');\n const totalChunks = Math.ceil(payloadStr.length / MAX_FIELD_CHARS);\n const parent = await room.collection(collectionName).create({ ...extraFields, chunked: true, totalChunks });\n for (let i = 0; i < totalChunks; i++) {\n await room.collection('chunk').create({\n parent_id: parent.id,\n index: i,\n data: payloadStr.slice(i * MAX_FIELD_CHARS, (i + 1) * MAX_FIELD_CHARS)\n });\n }\n return parent;\n}\n\nfunction decodePayload(record, chunksById) {\n if (!record) return null;\n if (record.chunked) {\n const parts = (chunksById[record.id] || []).slice().sort((a,b)=>a.index-b.index);\n if (parts.length === 0 || parts.length !== record.totalChunks) return null;\n try { return JSON.parse(parts.map(c=>c.data).join('')); } catch { return null; }\n }\n return record.payload;\n}\n```\n\nWait but for drawings, existing records have `strokes` field, not `payload`. And chunks are in `drawing_chunk` with `drawing_id`. So to be backward compatible, decodeRecord for drawing should handle:\n- If `record.chunked` (legacy or new): gather chunks.\n - First check `drawing_chunk` with `drawing_id` for legacy.\n - Then check `chunk` with `parent_id` for new.\n- Else `record.strokes` (legacy uncompressed or compressed) or `record.payload` (new).\n\nMaybe keep current decodeRecord but change chunk size and make sure drawings are always chunked if too large. Also add chunking for weights/generated.\n\nLet's keep it simpler: keep existing drawing functions mostly as is, just lower CHUNK_CHARS to 100000. Then add chunking for weights and generated with a helper that uses `chunk` collection.\n\nBut the user says \"remove the 'data field exceeds 250kb' error, it keeps the app breaking\". So the main issue is likely weights. Because drawings are chunked, but weights are saved as a single field and may exceed 250KB.\n\nLet's estimate weights JSON size more precisely:\n- enc1 weights: 110656 numbers. Each number ~10 chars average => 1,106,560 chars. Plus brackets, commas etc => ~1.2M chars.\n- dec2 weights: 110592 numbers => ~1.2M chars.\nTotal weights maybe ~2.5M chars. Definitely > 250KB.\n\nSo we need to chunk weights. Also generated strokes could be large but probably not that large after vectorization. But still we should chunk them too.\n\nAlso drawings: CHUNK_CHARS=300k is too high; need to lower to ~100k to avoid field limit even if not chunked.\n\nPlan:\n\nUpdate storage.js:\n- CHUNK_CHARS -> 100000 (safe under 250KB even with UTF-16).\n- MAX_DRAWING_CHARS stays 4MB.\n- Add `MAX_FIELD_CHARS = 100000`.\n- Change `addDrawing` to chunk if payload.length > MAX_FIELD_CHARS (instead of CHUNK_CHARS).\n- Add generic chunk save/load for weights/generated using `chunk` collection with `parent_id`.\n\nModify weight functions:\n- `getLatestWeights`: fetch weights records and chunks. Decode first weight record using chunk helper.\n- `subscribeWeights`: similar.\n- `saveWeights`: use saveWithChunks.\n\nModify generated functions:\n- `getGeneratedByDate`: fetch generated records for date and chunks. Decode.\n- `subscribeGeneratedForDate`: similar.\n- `saveGenerated`: use saveWithChunks.\n\nNeed to maintain backward compatibility for existing weights/generated records that are not chunked and have `weights`/`strokes` field directly.\n\nAlso maintain backward compatibility for existing drawings with `drawing_chunk`.\n\nImplementation details:\n\nCreate a helper:\n```\nasync function saveChunkedPayload(collectionName, payloadField, payloadValue, extraFields, options = {}) {\n const raw = JSON.stringify(payloadValue);\n if (raw.length <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS) {\n return await room.collection(collectionName).create({ ...extraFields, [payloadField]: payloadValue });\n }\n if (raw.length > MAX_TOTAL_CHARS) throw new Error('Exceeds 4 MB limit');\n const totalChunks = Math.ceil(raw.length / MAX_FIELD_CHARS);\n const parent = await room.collection(collectionName).create({ ...extraFields, chunked: true, totalChunks });\n for (let i = 0; i < totalChunks; i++) {\n await room.collection('chunk').create({\n parent_id: parent.id,\n index: i,\n data: raw.slice(i * MAX_FIELD_CHARS, (i + 1) * MAX_FIELD_CHARS)\n });\n }\n return parent;\n}\n```\n\nAnd a decode helper:\n```\nfunction decodeChunkedPayload(record, chunksById, payloadField = 'payload') {\n if (!record) return null;\n if (record.chunked) {\n const parts = (chunksById[record.id] || []).slice().sort((a, b) => a.index - b.index);\n if (parts.length === 0 || parts.length !== record.totalChunks) return null;\n try {\n return unpack(JSON.parse(parts.map(c => c.data).join('')));\n } catch {\n return null;\n }\n }\n return unpack(record[payloadField]);\n}\n```\n\nFor `saveWeights`, the first record might have been created by the user; if it's theirs, they can update. But if we change to chunking, updating a non-chunked record to a chunked one is tricky. We can delete the old record and create a new one? But user can only delete their own. The current logic updates if same user, else creates. Since weights are global, any user can create a new weights record if latest isn't theirs. But with chunks, if we update a non-chunked record, we can set `chunked: true` and create chunks, and remove old payload field. But the old chunks (if any) would be orphaned. Better: delete old chunks with parent_id==record.id if updating.\n\nBut updating WebsimSocket records: we can set `chunked: true, totalChunks: N, weights: pack(weights)`? Wait we don't want to store weights in the parent if chunked. We want parent to have only metadata and chunks in chunk collection. So update parent to `{ chunked: true, totalChunks: N }` (removing weights field), and create chunks.\n\nBut when reading, if chunked, decode from chunks; else decode from weights field. Good.\n\nNeed to handle deleting old chunks on update. Since chunks are records created by user, they can delete them. We need to fetch chunks for parent_id and delete them. But there could be many. Better to avoid update and just create new weights record, leaving old ones? But then `getLatestWeights` returns newest. Orphaned chunks would accumulate. Hmm.\n\nAlternatively, use the existing single weights record and chunk within the `weights` field? But field limit is 250KB, so can't.\n\nCould compress weights with LZString and store as `__c`. 2.5M chars raw maybe compresses to much less? Let's estimate. The weights are arrays of floats with random-ish values. LZString may compress 2.5M to maybe 1M or less. Still possibly > 250KB. But maybe it could be under? Not reliable. We need chunking.\n\nBut maybe there's a simpler approach: quantize weights to 8-bit ints, which reduces size dramatically. Store weights as base64 string or array of small ints. That would reduce weight size by ~4x. 2.5M chars / 4 ≈ 625K chars. Still > 250KB. Quantize to 4-bit? Too aggressive. Chunking still needed.\n\nBut for user request, chunking is the right fix.\n\nImplementation of saveWeights with chunking and cleanup:\n\n```\nexport async function saveWeights(weights) {\n const records = await room.collection('weights').getList();\n const user = await getUser();\n const packed = pack(weights);\n const raw = JSON.stringify(packed);\n \n let parentId;\n if (records.length > 0 && records[0].username === user.username) {\n // Update existing parent: clear old chunks and payload\n const id = records[0].id;\n if (records[0].chunked) {\n const oldChunks = await room.collection('chunk').filter({ parent_id: id }).getList();\n for (const c of oldChunks) await room.collection('chunk').delete(c.id);\n }\n await room.collection('weights').update(id, { chunked: raw.length > MAX_FIELD_CHARS, totalChunks: 0, weights: null });\n parentId = id;\n } else {\n const newParent = await room.collection('weights').create({ chunked: raw.length > MAX_FIELD_CHARS, totalChunks: 0 });\n parentId = newParent.id;\n }\n \n if (raw.length <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS) {\n await room.collection('weights').update(parentId, { weights: packed });\n } else {\n if (raw.length > MAX_TOTAL_CHARS) throw new Error('Exceeds 4 MB limit');\n const totalChunks = Math.ceil(raw.length / MAX_FIELD_CHARS);\n await room.collection('weights').update(parentId, { totalChunks });\n for (let i = 0; i < totalChunks; i++) {\n await room.collection('chunk').create({\n parent_id: parentId,\n index: i,\n data: raw.slice(i * MAX_FIELD_CHARS, (i + 1) * MAX_FIELD_CHARS)\n });\n }\n }\n}\n```\n\nBut note: `pack(weights)` returns either the object or `{__c: compressed}`. `JSON.stringify(packed)` is what we chunk. Then decode reconstructs the packed object, then `unpack`.\n\nFor backward compatibility, existing weights records have `weights` field (packed). `decodeChunkedPayload` will handle non-chunked.\n\nFor generated, similar.\n\nWe also need `getLatestWeights` to fetch chunks. Since chunks may be in `chunk` collection. Also for drawing, existing chunks in `drawing_chunk`.\n\nMaybe create a unified chunk fetch: `room.collection('chunk').getList()` and also `drawing_chunk`. But `chunk` collection may have many records across all types; okay.\n\nFor `getLatestWeights`:\n```\nconst [records, chunks] = await Promise.all([\n room.collection('weights').getList(),\n room.collection('chunk').getList()\n]);\nconst chunksById = groupBy(chunks, 'parent_id');\nreturn records.length > 0 ? decodeChunkedPayload(records[0], chunksById, 'weights') : null;\n```\n\nFor `subscribeWeights`: subscribe to weights and chunks, group, decode.\n\nFor generated similarly.\n\nFor drawings: keep existing but lower chunk threshold. Also maybe support generic chunk for new drawings? But existing drawing_chunk is fine. The issue was CHUNK_CHARS=300k. Lower to 100k.\n\nBut also the `drawing` record itself stores `strokes: packed` when not chunked; if that field > 250KB, it fails. Lowering threshold ensures chunking.\n\nWe should also handle the case where the `drawing` record has `chunked: true` and totalChunks, and chunks are in `drawing_chunk`. Already handled.\n\nPotential issue: `addDrawing` checks `payload.length <= CHUNK_CHARS` to decide not chunked. If payload is compressed `__c` string, length might be small. If not compressed (raw JSON), length might be large. Both are JSON stringified. CHUNK_CHARS=100k will catch raw large data.\n\nBut for drawings, when chunking, it stores `data: part` as string slice of payload string. The `part` is a JSON substring, not valid JSON alone, but concatenated parts form valid JSON. Good.\n\nWait, in `addDrawing` for chunking it does:\n```\nconst drawing = await room.collection('drawing').create({ chunked: true, totalChunks });\nfor ...\n await room.collection('drawing_chunk').create({ drawing_id: drawing.id, index: i, data: part });\n```\nThen decode:\n```\nconst payload = parts.map(c => c.data).join('');\nreturn unpack(JSON.parse(payload));\n```\nPayload is the stringified packed object. If packed is `{__c: \"...\"}`, JSON.parse returns that object, then unpack decompresses. Good.\n\nIf not compressed, payload is stringified strokes array, JSON.parse returns array, unpack returns array. Good.\n\nSo lowering CHUNK_CHARS is enough for drawings.\n\nNow, we should also consider that the `pack` function returns data unchanged if raw.length < 400. For a drawing with many strokes, raw.length likely > 400, so it compresses. The compressed `__c` string is UTF-16 and may still be large. If compressed payload > 100k, chunk. Good.\n\nFor weights, `pack(weights)` likely compresses because raw is huge. But chunking is based on `raw = JSON.stringify(packed)` length. If packed is compressed string, raw length may be much smaller but still maybe >100k. We'll chunk if needed.\n\nNow, let's also consider that there is a `MAX_DRAWING_CHARS = 4 * 1024 * 1024` check. Since each char may be 2 bytes in UTF-16, 4M chars could be 8MB. But the user said \"extend data size limit to 4 mb per drawing\". So maybe keep MAX_DRAWING_CHARS as 4M characters (approx 4MB if UTF-8? unclear). Fine.\n\nWe should probably rename `MAX_DRAWING_CHARS` to `MAX_TOTAL_CHARS` and apply to all.\n\nNow, will the `chunk` collection get too large? Each chunk is 100k chars, so 250KB-ish. Weights maybe ~2.5M chars -> 25 chunks. Generated maybe small. Drawings maybe up to 4M chars -> 40 chunks. That's okay.\n\nBut `room.collection('chunk').getList()` returns all chunks globally; might be large. But fine for now.\n\nNeed to update `decodeRecord` for drawings to be robust.\n\nLet's write new storage.js.\n\nImportant: import LZString.\n\nNeed to ensure `saveWeights` and `saveGenerated` also clean up old chunks when updating.\n\nLet's design helpers carefully:\n\n```\nconst MAX_FIELD_CHARS = 100000;\nconst MAX_TOTAL_CHARS = 4 * 1024 * 1024;\n\nfunction pack(data) { ... }\n\nfunction unpack(data) { ... }\n\nfunction groupChunksByParent(chunks) {\n const byId = {};\n for (const c of chunks) {\n if (!byId[c.parent_id]) byId[c.parent_id] = [];\n byId[c.parent_id].push(c);\n }\n return byId;\n}\n\nfunction decodeWithChunks(record, chunksByParent, fieldName) {\n if (!record) return null;\n if (record.chunked) {\n const parts = (chunksByParent[record.id] || []).slice().sort((a, b) => a.index - b.index);\n if (parts.length === 0 || parts.length !== record.totalChunks) return null;\n try {\n return unpack(JSON.parse(parts.map(c => c.data).join('')));\n } catch {\n return null;\n }\n }\n return unpack(record[fieldName]);\n}\n```\n\nFor drawings, chunks are keyed by `drawing_id`, not `parent_id`. So decodeDrawing remains custom or we can map drawing chunks to parent_id. Let's create a generic `decodeAny(record, chunksById, fieldName)` where chunksById maps record id to chunks (regardless of key name). For weights/generated, we build `chunksById = groupBy(chunks, 'parent_id')`. For drawings, `chunksById = groupBy(drawingChunks, 'drawing_id')`.\n\nFor saving drawings, keep using drawing_chunk.\n\nFor saving weights/generated, use chunk with parent_id.\n\nNow, cleanup of old chunks:\n```\nasync function clearChunks(parentId) {\n const old = await room.collection('chunk').filter({ parent_id: parentId }).getList();\n for (const c of old) await room.collection('chunk').delete(c.id);\n}\n```\nUse in saveWeights and saveGenerated before creating new chunks.\n\nBut if the user doesn't own the existing latest record, we create a new one. We don't need to clear old chunks of other users.\n\nPotential issue: multiple users creating weights records. The app uses latest. That's okay.\n\nNow, `saveWeights` should also support the case where raw <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS: store directly in weights field, not chunked. If updating an existing record that was chunked, we should clear old chunks and set chunked:false.\n\nImplementation:\n\n```\nexport async function saveWeights(weights) {\n const records = await room.collection('weights').getList();\n const user = await getUser();\n const packed = pack(weights);\n const raw = JSON.stringify(packed);\n\n let parent;\n if (records.length > 0 && records[0].username === user.username) {\n parent = records[0];\n if (parent.chunked) {\n const oldChunks = await room.collection('chunk').filter({ parent_id: parent.id }).getList();\n for (const c of oldChunks) await room.collection('chunk').delete(c.id);\n }\n await room.collection('weights').update(parent.id, { chunked: false, totalChunks: 0, weights: null });\n } else {\n parent = await room.collection('weights').create({ chunked: false, totalChunks: 0 });\n }\n\n if (raw.length <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS) {\n await room.collection('weights').update(parent.id, { weights: packed });\n } else {\n if (raw.length > MAX_TOTAL_CHARS) throw new Error('Exceeds 4 MB limit');\n const totalChunks = Math.ceil(raw.length / MAX_FIELD_CHARS);\n await room.collection('weights').update(parent.id, { chunked: true, totalChunks });\n for (let i = 0; i < totalChunks; i++) {\n await room.collection('chunk').create({\n parent_id: parent.id,\n index: i,\n data: raw.slice(i * MAX_FIELD_CHARS, (i + 1) * MAX_FIELD_CHARS)\n });\n }\n }\n}\n```\n\nBut wait: when we update parent to `{ chunked: false, totalChunks: 0, weights: null }`, if raw.length <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS, we then update weights. Good. If raw > limit, we update chunked/totalChunks and create chunks.\n\nFor generated, similar but filter by date.\n\n```\nexport async function saveGenerated(generated) {\n const records = await room.collection('generated').filter({ date: generated.date }).getList();\n const user = await getUser();\n const packed = pack(generated.strokes);\n const raw = JSON.stringify(packed);\n\n let parent;\n const base = { date: generated.date };\n if (records.length > 0 && records[0].username === user.username) {\n parent = records[0];\n if (parent.chunked) { clear chunks for parent.id }\n await room.collection('generated').update(parent.id, { ...base, chunked: false, totalChunks: 0, strokes: null });\n } else {\n parent = await room.collection('generated').create({ ...base, chunked: false, totalChunks: 0 });\n }\n\n if (raw.length <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS) {\n await room.collection('generated').update(parent.id, { strokes: packed });\n } else {\n ... chunk ...\n }\n}\n```\n\nFor reading:\n\n```\nexport async function getLatestWeights() {\n const [records, chunks] = await Promise.all([\n room.collection('weights').getList(),\n room.collection('chunk').getList()\n ]);\n const byId = {};\n for (const c of chunks) {\n if (!byId[c.parent_id]) byId[c.parent_id] = [];\n byId[c.parent_id].push(c);\n }\n return records.length > 0 ? decodeWithChunks(records[0], byId, 'weights') : null;\n}\n```\n\nBut we also need backward compatibility for any existing weights that were saved before with direct `weights` field and no chunks. `decodeWithChunks` handles `record.chunked` false -> `unpack(record.weights)`. Good.\n\nFor `subscribeWeights`, we need to subscribe to both weights and chunks and recompute. But if chunks are global, any chunk change triggers recompute. Fine.\n\n```\nexport function subscribeWeights(callback) {\n let records = [];\n let chunks = [];\n function notify() {\n const byId = {};\n for (const c of chunks) {\n if (!byId[c.parent_id]) byId[c.parent_id] = [];\n byId[c.parent_id].push(c);\n }\n callback(records.length > 0 ? decodeWithChunks(records[0], byId, 'weights') : null);\n }\n const unsubRecords = room.collection('weights').subscribe(list => { records = list; notify(); });\n const unsubChunks = room.collection('chunk').subscribe(list => { chunks = list; notify(); });\n return () => { unsubRecords(); unsubChunks(); };\n}\n```\n\nFor generated:\n\n```\nexport function getGeneratedByDate(date) {\n return Promise.all([\n room.collection('generated').filter({ date }).getList(),\n room.collection('chunk').getList()\n ]).then(([records, chunks]) => {\n const byId = {};\n for (const c of chunks) {\n if (!byId[c.parent_id]) byId[c.parent_id] = [];\n byId[c.parent_id].push(c);\n }\n if (records.length === 0) return null;\n const strokes = decodeWithChunks(records[0], byId, 'strokes');\n return { date: records[0].date, strokes };\n });\n}\n```\n\nFor `subscribeGeneratedForDate(date, callback)` similar.\n\nNow drawings: modify `CHUNK_CHARS` to `MAX_FIELD_CHARS`. In `addDrawing`, `if (payload.length <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS)`. Also check `if (payload.length > MAX_TOTAL_CHARS)`. Use drawing_chunk.\n\nBut also if a drawing is not chunked but `payload.length` <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS, the `strokes` field can be compressed `__c` object or raw array. Good.\n\nNeed to update decodeRecord to handle `record.chunked` with chunks in drawing_chunk. Already does.\n\nPotential issue: if a drawing record is chunked but some chunks missing, decodeRecord returns null, then filter removes it. Good.\n\nNow, one more thing: `room.collection('chunk').getList()` returns all chunks globally, including for drawings if we later migrate. For now only weights/generated use it. Fine.\n\nNeed to ensure `MAX_TOTAL_CHARS` is applied consistently. The user said extend data size limit to 4 MB per drawing. We can keep the constant name `MAX_DRAWING_CHARS` but use it as global max. Maybe rename to `MAX_PAYLOAD_CHARS` for clarity.\n\nLet's also check if `saveWeights` raw might exceed 4MB. It won't.\n\nNow, also consider that `pack(weights)` returns `{__c: compressed}` if raw.length >= 400. The compressed string length might be under 250KB? Actually LZString compressToUTF16 typically reduces size. For random floats, compression ratio maybe 2-3x. 2.5M raw -> maybe 1M compressed. Still > 100k. We'll chunk. Good.\n\nNow, what about `saveGenerated` with raw strokes uncompressed? Vectorized strokes might be many points but usually under 100k. If >, chunk.\n\nNow, need to output the updated storage.js. The user request is just to remove the error. We should output the file changes. Since it's a single file change, we can output the full file or search/replace. Because the file is not huge, but there are multiple changes. Better to output the entire new storage.js as a code block labeled with filename. The instructions say for creating new text files use markdown code block. For editing existing files use SEARCH/REPLACE. We should use SEARCH/REPLACE. But there are many changes. We can use multiple SEARCH/REPLACE blocks or one big block. Better to do multiple.\n\nHowever, since we are changing a lot, maybe easier to present the full file. The instructions for editing existing files require SEARCH/REPLACE. I will use one or more SEARCH/REPLACE blocks.\n\nLet's craft SEARCH/REPLACE for storage.js.\n\nFirst, change constants:\n```\nconst MAX_DRAWING_CHARS = 4 * 1024 * 1024;\nconst CHUNK_CHARS = 300 * 1024;\n```\nto\n```\nconst MAX_PAYLOAD_CHARS = 4 * 1024 * 1024;\nconst MAX_FIELD_CHARS = 100 * 1024;\n```\n\nThen update `addDrawing`:\n```\n if (payload.length <= CHUNK_CHARS) {\n await room.collection('drawing').create({ strokes: packed });\n return;\n }\n\n if (payload.length > MAX_DRAWING_CHARS) {\n throw new Error('Drawing exceeds 4 MB limit');\n }\n```\nto\n```\n if (payload.length <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS) {\n await room.collection('drawing').create({ strokes: packed });\n return;\n }\n\n if (payload.length > MAX_PAYLOAD_CHARS) {\n throw new Error('Drawing exceeds 4 MB limit');\n }\n```\n\nThen add helper functions after unpack maybe:\n```\nfunction decodeWithChunks(record, chunksById, fieldName) { ... }\nasync function clearParentChunks(parentId) { ... }\nasync function saveChunkedRecord(collection, fieldName, value, baseFields, existingRecord = null) { ... }\n```\n\nThen replace weight functions.\n\nLet's write the complete new storage.js to ensure correctness, then produce SEARCH/REPLACE blocks.\n\nPotential issue with `saveChunkedRecord`: If existingRecord is provided and owned by user, we need to delete old chunks and update. If not, create new. But for `saveWeights`, existingRecord is latest record. For `saveGenerated`, existingRecord is latest for date.\n\nImplementation:\n\n```\nasync function saveChunkedRecord(collection, fieldName, value, baseFields, existingRecord) {\n const packed = pack(value);\n const raw = JSON.stringify(packed);\n const user = await getUser();\n\n let parent;\n if (existingRecord && existingRecord.username === user.username) {\n parent = existingRecord;\n if (parent.chunked) {\n const oldChunks = await room.collection('chunk').filter({ parent_id: parent.id }).getList();\n for (const c of oldChunks) await room.collection('chunk').delete(c.id);\n }\n await room.collection(collection).update(parent.id, { ...baseFields, chunked: false, totalChunks: 0, [fieldName]: null });\n } else {\n parent = await room.collection(collection).create({ ...baseFields, chunked: false, totalChunks: 0 });\n }\n\n if (raw.length <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS) {\n await room.collection(collection).update(parent.id, { [fieldName]: packed });\n } else {\n if (raw.length > MAX_PAYLOAD_CHARS) throw new Error('Payload exceeds 4 MB limit');\n const totalChunks = Math.ceil(raw.length / MAX_FIELD_CHARS);\n await room.collection(collection).update(parent.id, { chunked: true, totalChunks });\n for (let i = 0; i < totalChunks; i++) {\n await room.collection('chunk').create({\n parent_id: parent.id,\n index: i,\n data: raw.slice(i * MAX_FIELD_CHARS, (i + 1) * MAX_FIELD_CHARS)\n });\n }\n }\n return parent;\n}\n```\n\nThen `saveWeights`:\n```\nexport async function saveWeights(weights) {\n const records = await room.collection('weights').getList();\n await saveChunkedRecord('weights', 'weights', weights, {}, records[0] || null);\n}\n```\n\nWait `baseFields` for weights is empty. Good.\n\n`saveGenerated`:\n```\nexport async function saveGenerated(generated) {\n const records = await room.collection('generated').filter({ date: generated.date }).getList();\n await saveChunkedRecord('generated', 'strokes', generated.strokes, { date: generated.date }, records[0] || null);\n}\n```\n\nNow reading functions:\n\nFor weights:\n```\nexport async function getLatestWeights() {\n const [records, chunks] = await Promise.all([\n room.collection('weights').getList(),\n room.collection('chunk').getList()\n ]);\n const chunksById = {};\n for (const c of chunks) {\n if (!chunksById[c.parent_id]) chunksById[c.parent_id] = [];\n chunksById[c.parent_id].push(c);\n }\n return records.length > 0 ? decodeWithChunks(records[0], chunksById, 'weights') : null;\n}\n```\n\nSubscribe weights:\n```\nexport function subscribeWeights(callback) {\n let records = [];\n let chunks = [];\n function notify() {\n const chunksById = {};\n for (const c of chunks) {\n if (!chunksById[c.parent_id]) chunksById[c.parent_id] = [];\n chunksById[c.parent_id].push(c);\n }\n callback(records.length > 0 ? decodeWithChunks(records[0], chunksById, 'weights') : null);\n }\n const unsubRecords = room.collection('weights').subscribe(list => { records = list; notify(); });\n const unsubChunks = room.collection('chunk').subscribe(list => { chunks = list; notify(); });\n return () => { unsubRecords(); unsubChunks(); };\n}\n```\n\nGenerated:\n```\nexport function getGeneratedByDate(date) {\n return Promise.all([\n room.collection('generated').filter({ date }).getList(),\n room.collection('chunk').getList()\n ]).then(([records, chunks]) => {\n const chunksById = {};\n for (const c of chunks) {\n if (!chunksById[c.parent_id]) chunksById[c.parent_id] = [];\n chunksById[c.parent_id].push(c);\n }\n if (records.length === 0) return null;\n const strokes = decodeWithChunks(records[0], chunksById, 'strokes');\n return { date: records[0].date, strokes };\n });\n}\n```\n\nSubscribe generated:\n```\nexport function subscribeGeneratedForDate(date, callback) {\n let records = [];\n let chunks = [];\n function notify() {\n const chunksById = {};\n for (const c of chunks) {\n if (!chunksById[c.parent_id]) chunksById[c.parent_id] = [];\n chunksById[c.parent_id].push(c);\n }\n if (records.length === 0) {\n callback(null);\n } else {\n const strokes = decodeWithChunks(records[0], chunksById, 'strokes');\n callback({ date: records[0].date, strokes });\n }\n }\n const unsubRecords = room.collection('generated').filter({ date }).subscribe(list => { records = list; notify(); });\n const unsubChunks = room.collection('chunk').subscribe(list => { chunks = list; notify(); });\n return () => { unsubRecords(); unsubChunks(); };\n}\n```\n\nNow decodeWithChunks:\n```\nfunction decodeWithChunks(record, chunksById, fieldName) {\n if (record.chunked) {\n const parts = (chunksById[record.id] || []).slice().sort((a, b) => a.index - b.index);\n if (parts.length === 0 || parts.length !== record.totalChunks) return null;\n try {\n return unpack(JSON.parse(parts.map(c => c.data).join('')));\n } catch {\n return null;\n }\n }\n return unpack(record[fieldName]);\n}\n```\n\nNeed to define `decodeWithChunks` before use. It can go after `unpack`.\n\nNow, should we also handle drawings with new chunk collection? Not necessary. But we could unify. The user error may also be from drawings if CHUNK_CHARS too high. We'll lower it.\n\nNow, what about the `getDrawings` and `subscribeDrawings` functions? They still work with drawing_chunk. Good.\n\nLet's also think: the `drawing` record may be chunked but the payload is small enough to not need chunking. We lowered threshold. Good.\n\nPotential issue: `addDrawing` when payload is compressed `__c` object, it stores `strokes: packed`. The `packed` is an object. The record field holds object. Good.\n\nPotential issue: `decodeRecord` for non-chunked record calls `unpack(record.strokes)`. If record.strokes is an object `{__c: \"...\"}` it decompresses. If it's an array, returns array. Good.\n\nPotential issue: `saveChunkedRecord` stores `fieldName: packed`. If `packed` is an object, field holds object. If chunked, chunks hold string slices of `raw` which is JSON string of packed. Good.\n\nPotential issue: The `weights` collection might have records from different users; we update only if owned. If not owned, create new. `getLatestWeights` returns newest. Good.\n\nPotential issue: Orphaned chunks when a non-owned record is replaced by a new one. Not our problem; we can't delete others' chunks.\n\nPotential issue: When updating an owned record from chunked to non-chunked, we set `chunked: false, totalChunks: 0, [fieldName]: null`, then update field. Good.\n\nPotential issue: The `totalChunks: 0` might be stored; decodeWithChunks checks `record.chunked`, so fine.\n\nPotential issue: `saveChunkedRecord` uses `await room.collection(collection).update(parent.id, { ...baseFields, chunked: false, totalChunks: 0, [fieldName]: null });` This might overwrite the field with null and then set it again. If raw <= limit, we update with packed. Good.\n\nPotential issue: `baseFields` for generated includes date. When updating, we include date again. Fine.\n\nPotential issue: `saveWeights` baseFields empty. Fine.\n\nPotential issue: The first record in weights might not be owned by current user, so we create a new one. That new one becomes latest. Good.\n\nPotential issue: There may be many weights records over time. Not a problem.\n\nPotential issue: `room.collection('chunk').getList()` returns all chunks. As app usage grows, this could be large. But acceptable for now.\n\nPotential issue: `subscribeWeights` recomputes on every chunk change globally. Fine.\n\nPotential issue: The `drawing_chunk` records also count toward storage. Fine.\n\nNow, also consider if there is an existing `weights` record that is larger than 250KB and the app is currently broken. We can't fix existing records, but new saves will chunk. However, when app loads, `getLatestWeights` will try to fetch the existing oversized record, which may fail with the same error. Actually the error \"data field exceeds 250kb\" might occur on read? It probably occurs on write. Reading a record that already exists should be fine? If the record already exists, it was written somehow. But if it's broken, maybe it's not. Anyway, our fix prevents future writes.\n\nBut to be safe, maybe we should also quantize/compress weights further to avoid chunking. But chunking is okay.\n\nWait, the user wants to remove the error \"it keeps the app breaking\". If the error occurs during saveWeights, chunking solves it.\n\nLet's also check `addDrawing`: if payload.length <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS but the `strokes` field object contains `__c` string of length <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS, that's <= 100k chars, under 250KB. Good. If uncompressed raw strokes array length <= 100k chars, under limit. Good.\n\nNow, one more possible source: `saveWeights` calls `room.collection('weights').getList()` which returns all weights records. If an existing record has a field >250KB, reading might fail. But records are stored; reading should be allowed. If not, we may need to delete old records? But we can't delete others' records. Maybe the backend allows reading but not writing. We'll assume.\n\nNow, let's implement.\n\nAlso maybe we should update `MAX_FIELD_CHARS` to 90,000 to be extra safe (180KB in UTF-16? Actually 90k chars * 2 bytes = 180KB, plus JSON overhead and other fields under 250KB). Let's use 90000. But 100k is 200KB, plus overhead maybe ~210KB, still under 250KB. Use 100k.\n\nActually if the field is a string in JSON, each char is one character in JSON string, but when stored as UTF-16 it's 2 bytes. So 100k chars = 200KB. Plus other fields (id, username, date, etc.) maybe <5KB. So safe.\n\nNow, final file.\n\nI'll produce SEARCH/REPLACE blocks. Since many changes, I'll do a few big blocks. Need to be exact.\n\nFirst block: constants and addDrawing.\n\nOriginal:\n```\nconst MAX_DRAWING_CHARS = 4 * 1024 * 1024;\nconst CHUNK_CHARS = 300 * 1024;\n```\n\nReplace.\n\nOriginal addDrawing block:\n```\nexport async function addDrawing(strokes) {\n const packed = pack(strokes);\n const payload = JSON.stringify(packed);\n\n if (payload.length <= CHUNK_CHARS) {\n await room.collection('drawing').create({ strokes: packed });\n return;\n }\n\n if (payload.length > MAX_DRAWING_CHARS) {\n throw new Error('Drawing exceeds 4 MB limit');\n }\n...\n```\n\nReplace.\n\nSecond block: add helper functions after unpack.\n\nOriginal after unpack:\n```\nfunction decodeRecord(record, chunksById) {\n...\n```\n\nWe'll insert `decodeWithChunks` before `decodeRecord` maybe.\n\nSearch:\n```\nfunction decodeRecord(record, chunksById) {\n```\nReplace with:\n```\nfunction decodeWithChunks(record, chunksById, fieldName) {\n if (record.chunked) {\n const parts = (chunksById[record.id] || []).slice().sort((a, b) => a.index - b.index);\n if (parts.length === 0 || parts.length !== record.totalChunks) return null;\n try {\n return unpack(JSON.parse(parts.map(c => c.data).join('')));\n } catch {\n return null;\n }\n }\n return unpack(record[fieldName]);\n}\n\nfunction decodeRecord(record, chunksById) {\n```\n\nThird block: replace weight and generated functions. Original from `export function getLatestWeights()` to end. Replace with new implementations.\n\nSearch for the rest of file from `export function getLatestWeights()` to end. We can capture exact text.\n\nOriginal:\n```\nexport function getLatestWeights() {\n return room.collection('weights').getList().then(records =>\n records.length > 0 ? unpack(records[0].weights) : null\n );\n}\n\nexport function subscribeWeights(callback) {\n return room.collection('weights').subscribe(records => {\n callback(records.length > 0 ? unpack(records[0].weights) : null);\n });\n}\n\nexport async function saveWeights(weights) {\n const records = await room.collection('weights').getList();\n const user = await getUser();\n if (records.length > 0 && records[0].username === user.username) {\n await room.collection('weights').update(records[0].id, { weights: pack(weights) });\n } else {\n await room.collection('weights').create({ weights: pack(weights) });\n }\n}\n\nexport function getGeneratedByDate(date) {\n return room.collection('generated').filter({ date }).getList().then(records =>\n records.length > 0 ? { date: records[0].date, strokes: unpack(records[0].strokes) } : null\n );\n}\n\nexport function subscribeGeneratedForDate(date, callback) {\n return room.collection('generated').filter({ date }).subscribe(records => {\n callback(records.length > 0 ? { date: records[0].date, strokes: unpack(records[0].strokes) } : null);\n });\n}\n\nexport async function saveGenerated(generated) {\n const records = await room.collection('generated').filter({ date: generated.date }).getList();\n const user = await getUser();\n const payload = { date: generated.date, strokes: pack(generated.strokes) };\n if (records.length > 0 && records[0].username === user.username) {\n await room.collection('generated').update(records[0].id, payload);\n } else {\n await room.collection('generated').create(payload);\n }\n}\n```\n\nReplace.\n\nNow, we need to make sure `saveChunkedRecord` is defined before these functions. We'll insert it after `decodeRecord` or before weight functions. The second block inserts `decodeWithChunks` before `decodeRecord`. Then we can insert `saveChunkedRecord` after `decodeRecord` or in the third block. Let's insert `saveChunkedRecord` in the third block as part of the replacement.\n\nActually we need `getUser` is defined at bottom? In original `getUser` is defined after `addDrawing`. Let's check original storage.js order:\n\n```\nimport LZString ...\n\nconst room = new WebsimSocket();\n\nconst MAX_DRAWING_CHARS = ...\nconst CHUNK_CHARS = ...;\n\nfunction pack ...\nfunction unpack ...\n\nfunction decodeRecord ...\n\nexport async function getDrawings() ...\nexport function subscribeDrawings() ...\nexport async function addDrawing() ...\n\nasync function getUser() { ... }\n\nexport function getLatestWeights() ...\n...\n```\n\nSo `getUser` is defined before weight functions. `decodeWithChunks` can be before `decodeRecord`. `saveChunkedRecord` should be after `getUser` and before weight functions. We'll insert it in the third block before `export function getLatestWeights`.\n\nActually we can put `saveChunkedRecord` inside the third block replacement before `export function getLatestWeights`. That works.\n\nLet's write the new weight/generated section:\n\n```\nasync function saveChunkedRecord(collection, fieldName, value, baseFields, existingRecord) {\n const packed = pack(value);\n const raw = JSON.stringify(packed);\n const user = await getUser();\n\n let parent;\n if (existingRecord && existingRecord.username === user.username) {\n parent = existingRecord;\n if (parent.chunked) {\n const oldChunks = await room.collection('chunk').filter({ parent_id: parent.id }).getList();\n for (const c of oldChunks) await room.collection('chunk').delete(c.id);\n }\n await room.collection(collection).update(parent.id, { ...baseFields, chunked: false, totalChunks: 0, [fieldName]: null });\n } else {\n parent = await room.collection(collection).create({ ...baseFields, chunked: false, totalChunks: 0 });\n }\n\n if (raw.length <= MAX_FIELD_CHARS) {\n await room.collection(collection).update(parent.id, { [fieldName]: packed });\n } else {\n if (raw.length > MAX_PAYLOAD_CHARS) throw new Error('Payload exceeds 4 MB limit');\n const totalChunks = Math.ceil(raw.length / MAX_FIELD_CHARS);\n await room.collection(collection).update(parent.id, { chunked: true, totalChunks });\n for (let i = 0; i < totalChunks; i++) {\n await room.collection('chunk').create({\n parent_id: parent.id,\n index: i,\n data: raw.slice(i * MAX_FIELD_CHARS, (i + 1) * MAX_FIELD_CHARS)\n });\n }\n }\n return parent;\n}\n\nexport async function getLatestWeights() {\n...\n}\n```\n\nGood.\n\nNow, let's verify no syntax errors.\n\nAlso need to update `MAX_DRAWING_CHARS` references. In new code we use `MAX_PAYLOAD_CHARS` and `MAX_FIELD_CHARS`. Need to ensure no leftover `MAX_DRAWING_CHARS` or `CHUNK_CHARS`. In addDrawing replacement, we use new names.\n\nNow, check drawing chunking loop uses `CHUNK_CHARS`. We'll replace with `MAX_FIELD_CHARS`.\n\nOriginal chunk loop:\n```\n const totalChunks = Math.ceil(payload.length / CHUNK_CHARS);\n const drawing = await room.collection('drawing').create({\n chunked: true,\n totalChunks\n });\n\n for (let i = 0; i < totalChunks; i++) {\n const part = payload.slice(i * CHUNK_CHARS, (i + 1) * CHUNK_CHARS);\n ...\n }\n```\n\nReplace.\n\nNow, final check: `addDrawing` now uses `MAX_FIELD_CHARS` for no-chunk threshold and `MAX_PAYLOAD_CHARS` for max limit. Good.\n\nOne more thought: `MAX_FIELD_CHARS` also used for `saveChunkedRecord`. Since weights/generate use `pack`, raw length is JSON of packed. Good.\n\nNow, should we also update `drawing` decoding to use `decodeWithChunks`? It can but not necessary. The custom `decodeRecord` already does same logic. We could refactor but not needed. To avoid confusion, maybe we should leave `decodeRecord` as is, except it already works. But we added `decodeWithChunks` before it. That's fine.\n\nActually we could simplify `decodeRecord` to call `decodeWithChunks(record, chunksById, 'strokes')`. But the chunksById for drawings uses `drawing_id`, so same. It would be identical. Not necessary.\n\nLet's keep decodeRecord as is for backward compatibility.\n\nPotential issue: `decodeRecord` checks `record.chunked` and uses `chunksById[record.id]`. For drawing chunks, `chunksById` is built from `drawing_chunk` keyed by `drawing_id`. Good.\n\nNow, check `getDrawings`: it builds `chunksById` from drawing_chunk. Good.\n\n`subscribeDrawings`: same.\n\nNow, any issue with `room.collection('chunk').getList()` and `drawing_chunk` naming collision? No.\n\nNow, will `saveChunkedRecord` leave `[fieldName]: null` in parent record when chunked? We set it to null in the reset update, then update with chunked metadata. When chunked, the field is null. Good. When reading non-chunked, `record[fieldName]` is packed. Good.\n\nNow, if a record is chunked and the chunks are missing, decode returns null. Good.\n\nNow, need to output. Also include a summary at the end prefixed with \"Summary:\".\n\nThe user says: \"Afterwards, describe what you did. Base this description on the actual changes you made to the code, not the request -- this is important! Keep this description about the length of a tweet. You can address the user as 'you'! Prefix this description with 'Summary:'.\"\n\nSo after code changes, add summary.\n\nNow, produce SEARCH/REPLACE blocks. Need to be careful with exact whitespace.\n\nLet's open storage.js exact text:\n\n```\nimport LZString from 'https://esm.sh/lz-string@1.5.0';\n\nconst room = new WebsimSocket();\n\nconst MAX_DRAWING_CHARS = 4 * 1024 * 1024;\nconst CHUNK_CHARS = 300 * 1024;\n\nfunction pack(data) {\n const raw = JSON.stringify(data);\n if (raw.length < 400) return data;\n return { __c: LZString.compressToUTF16(raw) };\n}\n\nfunction unpack(data) {\n if (data == null) return null;\n if (data && typeof data === 'object' && data.__c) {\n try {\n return JSON.parse(LZString.decompressFromUTF16(data.__c));\n } catch (e) {\n return null;\n }\n }\n return data;\n}\n\nfunction decodeRecord(record, chunksById) {\n if (record.chunked) {\n const parts = (chunksById[record.id] || []).slice().sort((a, b) => a.index - b.index);\n if (parts.length === 0 || parts.length !== record.totalChunks) return null;\n try {\n const payload = parts.map(c => c.data).join('');\n return unpack(JSON.parse(payload));\n } catch {\n return null;\n }\n }\n return unpack(record.strokes);\n}\n\nexport async function getDrawings() {\n...\n```\n\nWait `decodeRecord` uses `const payload = parts.map...` which is slightly different from my earlier. I made it async, which is fine. The callers `await getGeneratedByDate` work.\n\nAlso `getLatestWeights` originally not async, now async. Callers `await getLatestWeights` work.\n\nNow, is there any issue with `saveChunkedRecord` when `existingRecord` is null? It creates new. Good.\n\nNow, if `existingRecord` is not null but not owned, it creates new. Good.\n\nNow, when updating existing record, we set `[fieldName]: null`. This removes the old data. Good.\n\nNow, in `saveChunkedRecord`, after reset update, if raw <= limit, we update with field. If raw > limit, we update chunked metadata and create chunks. Good.\n\nNow, potential race condition: not relevant.\n\nNow, summary.\n\n\"Summary: I lowered the per-field size threshold to 100KB so drawings are chunked before hitting the 250KB limit, and added generic chunking for model weights and generated art using a shared `chunk` collection, so large payloads split across multiple records instead of breaking saves.\"\n\nNeed to keep tweet length.
