for controls, containing the return button. Then, in the CSS, style that div to be positioned in the top-left corner.\n\nSo, updating index.html:\n\nInside the battle-map div, add:\n\n

\n \n

\nThen, in styles.css, add:\n\n#battle-map .map-controls {\n position: absolute;\n top: 20px;\n left: 20px;\n z-index: 1001;\n}\n\nThis positions the button within the battle-map's coordinate system. Since the battle-map is fixed, the button's absolute positioning will be relative to the viewport. However, the battle-map has a fixed position, so child elements with absolute positioning will be relative to the battle-map's containing block. Wait, absolute positioning is relative to the nearest positioned ancestor. Since the battle-map is position: fixed, and the .map-controls is position: absolute, it will be positioned relative to the battle-map's edges.\n\nWait, no. An absolutely positioned element inside a fixed-position element (which is also a containing block) will have its position relative to the fixed element's edges. So by setting top:20px and left:20px on .map-controls, it should be placed in the top-left corner of the battle-map.\n\nThis way, when the battle-map is visible, the Return to Selection button appears in its top-left corner. Then, we need to remove the existing return button from the game-controls div.\n\nLooking back at the index.html, the game-controls div has:\n\n\n\nSo we should remove that button from the game-controls div and place it inside the new map-controls div.\n\nTherefore, the steps are:\n\n1. In index.html, remove the RETURN TO SELECTION button from the game-controls div.\n2. Add a new div with class \"map-controls\" inside the battle-map div, containing the RETURN TO SELECTION button.\n3. Update CSS to style the new map-controls div and button.\n\nThis will position the return button correctly on the map. Also, ensure that the button is only visible when the battle-map is active. Since the button is inside the battle-map div, which has the 'hidden' class by default, it will only appear when the map is shown.\n\nAlso, adjust the CSS for the new button to have appropriate styling, matching the existing buttons.\n\nWait, the existing buttons have styles applied via .panel-content button. The new button might need similar styling, perhaps with a green border and background. So in CSS:\n\n#battle-map .map-controls button {\n background: var(--camo-dark);\n color: white;\n border: 1px solid var(--hud-green);\n padding: 0.5rem 1rem;\n cursor: pointer;\n}\n\nAlso, adding hover effects:\n\n#battle-map .map-controls button:hover {\n opacity: 0.8;\n}\n\nNow, putting it all together.\n\nLet me verify the current HTML structure. The game-controls div has:\n\n

Tactical Command

\n \n \n \n

\nSo, the third button is the RETURN TO SELECTION. We need to remove that button from here and place it inside the battle-map. Then, add the map-controls div inside the battle-map:\n\n

\n \n

\nThen, in CSS:\n\n#battle-map .map-controls {\n position: absolute;\n top: 20px;\n left: 20px;\n z-index: 1001;\n}\n\n#battle-map .map-controls button {\n background: var(--camo-dark);\n color: white;\n border: 1px solid var(--hud-green);\n padding: 0.5rem 1rem;\n cursor: pointer;\n}\n\n#battle-map .map-controls button:hover {\n opacity: 0.8;\n}\n\nThis should position the button correctly. Also, existing #game-controls has z-index, need to ensure the new map-controls button is above other elements. Setting z-index: 1001 since the battle-map has z-index: 1000.\n\nThis change addresses moving the return button to the left corner of the map. The user might also have intended for it to be in a different corner, but based on the prompt, left corner is specified.\n\nNow, check for any possible errors. The function goBack() is already defined in main.js, so moving the button shouldn't affect its functionality.\n\nTesting the change: When the map is displayed (after clicking DEPLOY TO PLAINS), the RETURN button should be in the top-left corner of the map view.\n\n```index.html\n```\n\n```styles.css\n```\n","page_description","This page features the \"Gunner HEAT PC! - 1959 Conflict Simulator,\" an interactive combat simulator based on NATO and Warsaw Pact forces during the Cold…","cursor","eyJpZCI6Imk4azdpbHZldTM5aDJ4aGxmaW9qIn0","token","included",[],"about",{"_181":-5},"parent","routes/browser/layout","actionData","errors"]
