called \"Drag Animation\". basically is a checkmark box that when enabled, allows the user to drag a character or any other image/gif, and each pixel it is moved, it creates a 10 ms frame. if no pixel is moved while selected, it will not create frames. disabling this checkmark will not affect any of the animation frames.","url","link_url","/p/g53nlli5e0cpabg6udw2","versioned_link_url","/p/g53nlli5e0cpabg6udw2/27","yapping","**Implementing UI Changes**\n\nI need to make some edits to the UI by adding a checkbox for a drag animation toggle in the stage-toolbar. The simplest approach is to put the checkbox element within the existing header or toolbar. I'll add an ID \"drag-animation-toggle\" to the buttons in the stage-toolbar area. After that, in the script.js file, I need to create a variable for dragAnimationEnabled and handle the movement to generate frames during dragging. I want to ensure I push new frames correctly based on movement.\n**Implementing Frame Capture**\n\nI’m focused on handling the pixel movement to create frames during drag animation. When dragAnimationEnabled is true, I need to track movedPixels and on pointermove, if there are movedPixels, I’ll create new frames that replicate the current stage. Each frame should have a duration of 10ms, and I might need to adjust my function to cap the current frame index. I want to simplify this by directly calling a snapshot function that captures the current visual state and updates the frame sequence efficiently.\n**Editing script.js and index.html**\n\nI’m setting up the checkbox handler and a variable in script.js, while modifying the makeDraggable function to use the snapshot feature. I need to locate the right spot in index.html to insert the checkbox near the toolbar toggles—specifically where the toolbar-toggle labels are defined. \n\nI'll define a new search string for this. After that, I have to modify script.js by inserting a new function and adjusting variable declarations, including the dragAnimationToggle. I’ll ensure every change matches exactly to avoid errors as I craft these patches.\n\nI will add a \"Drag Animation\" checkbox to the stage toolbar and implement logic so when enabled, dragging a sprite generates 10ms frames proportional to pixels moved.\n\nindex.html\n```index.html\n```\n\njs\n```\n<<<<<<< SEARCH\nconst showControlsToggle = document.getElementById(\"show-controls-toggle\");\nconst frameViewerEl = document.getElementById(\"frame-viewer\");\n=======\nconst showControlsToggle = document.getElementById(\"show-controls-toggle\");\nconst frameViewerEl = document.getElementById(\"frame-viewer\");\nconst dragAnimationToggle = document.getElementById(\"drag-animation-toggle\");\n>>>>>>> REPLACE\n```\n\njs\n```\n<<<<<<< SEARCH\nfunction makeDraggable(elem) {\n let isDragging = false;\n let startX = 0;\n let startY = 0;\n let elemStartLeft = 0;\n let elemStartTop = 0;\n\n const onPointerDown = (event) => {\n const e = event.touches ?
