Implementing either A* or BFS feels like the best way to get the enemies moving correctly. I am leaning towards A* for its efficiency, but BFS is also an interesting option to consider.\n\n\n**Analyzing Algorithm Implementations**\n\nI'm now thinking about how to integrate BFS into the existing codebase. The `getGrid()` and `getPixel()` functions are coming along, and they seem crucial for converting between game space and the grid. I am trying to find a good spot in the code to add `findPath()`, aiming for a clear and manageable implementation.\n\n\n**Planning Algorithm Integration**\n\nNow I'm focusing on the implementation details. I'm leaning toward BFS for simplicity, which will be a good starting point. I need to write `getGrid()` and `getPixel()`, and then `findPath()`. I'll start with four directions to keep things simple. Then, I will address enemy movement, which will be the most crucial step. I want to add some flexibility into the pathfinding.\n\n**Defining Grid-Based Pathfinding**\n\nI'm now thinking about translating my understanding into code. I'll start with essential conversions: `pixelToGrid()` and `gridToPixel()`, using `GRID_SIZE` and the game's dimensions. I'll design a `findPath()` function with BFS, aiming for clear grid-coordinate pathfinding. I need to get this to work first, before I think about optimizing enemy pathfinding behavior. Then, I can focus on integrating the path into the enemy's update process.\n\n\n**Designing Pathfinding Implementation**\n\nI'm now thinking about how to integrate the pixel-to-grid and grid-to-pixel conversions, along with the `findPath()` function. Implementing these steps using BFS will let enemies pathfind around walls! I'm planning to introduce the grid size constants and implement helpful functions. I'll focus on getting the pathfinding working first, then refine enemy movement.\n\n\n**Implementing Pathfinding Logic**\n\nI'm now thinking about how to integrate the pixel-to-grid and grid-to-pixel conversions, along with the `findPath()` function. I'll need a way for enemies to recalculate the path. I'll focus on implementing BFS with 4-directional movement for now. Then I will need to refine how the enemies calculate the next target, as well as the path itself.\n\n\n**Defining Pathfinding Details**\n\nI'm now thinking about how to integrate the player's position, as well as the path, into the enemy's logic. I have a `findPath()` to return an array of `{x, y}` grid coordinates, but I still need to make sure the enemy knows where they're going. I'll need to figure out how to iterate through the path nodes. I'll need to address the enemy's speed too, to make sure it will move at the proper rate.\n\n\n**Finalizing Enemy Pathfinding**\n\nI've got the pathfinding implementation and enemy movement almost complete. Now, I will make the enemy react to wall collisions, and recalculate paths when needed. I need to make the enemies damage walls even when they don't move into them directly. I'll test the pathfinding logic. After this, I'll test the enemy's pathing, and verify their behavior.\n\n\n**Finalizing Enemy Pathfinding**\n\nI've successfully implemented pathfinding for the enemies, enabling them to navigate around walls. Enemies' pathfinding is working! The enemy logic has been refactored, the player's position is integrated, and path recalculation is in place. Next steps include adding wall damage and improving overall testing.\n\n\n**Finalizing Algorithm Integration**\n\nI've got the player's position integrated into pathfinding, and the enemies are responding to grid paths well. Now I'm improving enemy damage calculation to ensure proper wall interaction. I will now integrate the path recalculation. I'm testing the `findPath()` function with its parameters.\n\n\n\n**Updating Enemy Navigation Logic**\n\nI'm currently integrating the enemy's path and its next target node. I've almost got the enemy logic complete and the next step is calculating the distance to the grid node and incrementing to the next node in the path. I've also implemented the conversion functions needed for the pixel and grid coordinate transformations, and am testing the pathfinding logic.\n\n**Integrating Enemy Pathfinding**\n\nI'm now thinking about how to integrate the player's position, as well as the path, into the enemy's logic. With `findPath()` returning path `{x, y}` coordinates, the enemy can navigate to those nodes. Then, I need to make sure the enemy knows where they're going and can iterate through the path nodes. I'll need to account for enemy speed too.\n\n\n**Developing Enemy Navigation**\n\nI'm now thinking about implementing the grid-based system for the enemies. I'll need to develop the pathfinding, the grid, and the player to enemy logic. I'm focusing on defining the pathfinding with a grid-based approach.\n\n\\n\\n**Defining Pathfinding Implementation**\n\nI'm currently thinking about integrating the pixel-to-grid and grid-to-pixel conversions, along with the `findPath()` function. Implementing this system will allow enemies to find paths! I'll establish constants for the grid and implement helper functions. Then, I will make the enemy react to player positions!\n\n\n**Developing Enemy Pathfinding**\n\nI'm now thinking about how to integrate pixel-to-grid and grid-to-pixel conversions, along with the BFS pathfinding function. By using this system, the enemy can create a clear path toward the player! I'll implement constants for the grid and the helper functions.\n\n\n**Defining Enemy Pathing**\n\nI'm currently thinking about how to integrate pixel-to-grid and grid-to-pixel conversions, along with the `findPath()` function. Implementing this grid-based system will enable enemies to pathfind around walls, and I'll focus on the essential helper functions. I will make sure the enemies can react to the player!\n\n\n**Developing Enemy Pathing**\n\nI'm focusing on the integration of pathfinding now. I'm trying to get the player's position, and also the path array, integrated into the enemy's logic. I have pathfinding implemented and am testing it, and I will see how to implement the grid-based system for the enemies.\n\n\n**Optimizing Enemy Movement**\n\nI'm now thinking about how to integrate the path nodes into the enemy update logic. I've designed the `findPath()` to give the coordinates of the path, so I need a way for the enemy to go to the next grid cell, and eventually to the player. The final step is to make sure the enemy still attacks if they are right next to the wall!\n\n\n**Developing Enemy Pathing**\n\nI'm currently thinking about how to integrate pixel-to-grid and grid-to-pixel conversions, along with the `findPath()` function. The enemies are responding to path recalculations, which is great! I'm now testing the pathfinding logic. After this, I'll focus on fine-tuning the enemy's pathing behaviors.\n\n\n**Integrating Enemy Pathfinding**\n\nI'm now thinking about how to integrate pixel-to-grid and grid-to-pixel conversions, along with the `findPath()` function. The integration has gone smoothly, and now the enemies can navigate around walls! I'm testing the pathfinding logic to confirm the calculations. I've begun fine-tuning the enemy's pathing behaviors.\n\n\n**Developing AI Pathing**\n\nI'm focusing on defining the pathfinding algorithm and how enemies will interact with the generated paths. I've designed the `findPath()` function, and now I'll integrate it with the enemies' logic to calculate the next target. Now I'm ensuring enemies follow paths, instead of moving directly to the player.\n\n\n**Integrating Enemy Logic**\n\nI'm now integrating pathfinding and player targeting into the enemy update. I'm focusing on handling path recalculation and navigating grid nodes. With the pathfinding working, I am improving the interaction of enemies with walls and refining their pathing logic. I am currently testing the updated pathfinding.\n\n\n**Refining Enemy Movement**\n\nI'm currently thinking about how to integrate pixel-to-grid and grid-to-pixel conversions, along with the `findPath()` function, and refining the collision detection for enemy pathing around walls. I am trying to improve enemy attack behavior against walls and testing the refined pathing logic. I'm making sure that the enemies can attack walls when necessary.\n\n\n**Defining Enemy Behavior**\n\nI'm now integrating pathfinding and player targeting into the enemy's update process. My focus is handling path recalculation, navigating grid nodes, and refining the collision detection for the enemy. I have been able to make enemies calculate the next move based on a path, which means I can address how they interact with walls.\n\n**Developing Complete Enemy Behavior**\n\nI'm now thinking about how to integrate the pathfinding results into the enemy update logic and ensure wall collisions are handled consistently. I'll make enemies react to player movement for the next node! I am going to make sure the enemies will attack walls when they are next to them.\n\n\n**Integrating Pixel-to-Grid Conversions**\n\nI'm now thinking about applying the newly created pixel-to-grid conversions within the enemy's `update()` loop. This will enable the enemy's pathing, and I am in the process of testing the `findPath()` function with its parameters. Then I'll focus on testing the enemy's pathing, and verifying their behavior.\n\n\n**Optimizing Pathfinding Implementation**\n\nI'm now integrating pixel-to-grid conversions and implementing BFS for enemy navigation. I'm almost ready to address edge cases. I'll make the enemy calculate the next grid node. Then, I'll figure out how to adjust the path so that the enemies can attack walls.\n\n\n**Developing Algorithm Implementation**\n\nI'm now thinking about developing the pathfinding algorithms for the enemies. I'm focusing on defining the paths for the enemies, and I have found `findPath()`. I've added a function to handle the pathfinding. Now I will move to implementing the algorithms. I need to get started on enemy logic.\n\n\n**Optimizing Pathfinding Updates**\n\nI'm now integrating pathfinding logic within the enemy's update loop. My focus is handling edge cases and making path recalculation more efficient. I'm testing wall collisions for enemies and the effects of path nodes. It's time to refine the enemy's update.\n\n\n**Integrating Enemy Pathfinding**\n\nI'm currently thinking about how to integrate pixel-to-grid and grid-to-pixel conversions, along with the `findPath()` function. Implementing this system will allow the enemy's logic to effectively move to the player. I'm focusing on defining the `findPath()` with a grid-based approach.\n\n\n**Developing Integrated Enemy Pathing**\n\nI've integrated the pixel-to-grid conversions and implemented a functional BFS pathfinding system! The enemies can now successfully navigate around walls, which is a significant breakthrough. I'm currently refining the path recalculation to ensure smooth and efficient enemy movement.\n\n\n**Developing Enemy Behavior**\n\nI'm now integrating pathfinding logic within the enemy's update loop. My focus is handling edge cases and making path recalculation more efficient, and I am testing wall collisions. I'll refine enemy movement, accounting for situations where they cannot reach the player.\n\n\n**Integrating Wall-Aware Movement**\n\nI've integrated the pixel-to-grid conversions and `findPath()` function. Enemies now calculate paths, reacting to the player. The BFS algorithm guides their movement, resulting in wall navigation! I am now testing the collision and wall-attacking logic.\n\n\n**Developing Enemy Behavior Integration**\n\nI'm now thinking about how to integrate the player's position, as well as the path, into the enemy's logic. Implementing the pixel-to-grid conversions along with BFS will get the enemies to their target. Then, I need to make sure the enemy knows where they are, and where they are going!\n\n\n**Developing BFS Integration**\n\nI'm now implementing the BFS algorithm within the enemy update loop. I've designed `findPath()`, which will allow for pathfinding to guide enemy movement and navigate walls effectively. I will test these pathfinding capabilities, and then integrate the new functionality.\n\n\n**Integrating Movement and Walls**\n\nI'm now thinking about how to integrate the player's position, as well as the path, into the enemy's logic. Enemies are now correctly pathing around obstacles! I will refine the collision check, to ensure the enemy attacks the walls. Now, I will need to finish implementing the enemy logic.\n\n```javascript\n// ... (existing code)\n\n //Inside update function, under \"5. I have pathfinding implemented and am testing it, and I will see how to implement the grid-based system for the enemies.\n\n\n**Developing BFS Pathing**\n\nI'm implementing BFS pathfinding for the enemies, which now navigate around walls! I'm adding path calculations to the update loop. I have to integrate a test now.\n\n\n**Implementing Wall-aware Pathing**\n\nI'm now integrating pathfinding logic within the enemy's update loop. I'll make the enemy calculate its path and follow it to the target location! Enemies will now effectively navigate the grid and follow paths around walls! Now, I need to test how the enemies will react when they damage the walls.\n```\n\n**Changes in `main.js`**:\n\n```diff\n--- a/main.js\n+++ b/main.js\n@@ -7,9 +7,6 @@\n const room = new WebsimSocket(); // Instantiate room\n \n // Constants for grid-based pathfinding\n-const WALL_SIZE = 50; // Already defined, but explicitly using here\n-// Grid width and height are dynamic based on window size, calculated in findPath\n-// function findPath(startX, startY, targetX, targetY, walls) {\n-// ...
