Buy Ally (30)

\nStyle it with CSS:\n\n#buyAllyButton {\n position: fixed;\n top: 20px;\n right: 20px;\n padding: 10px 20px;\n background: #2ecc71;\n color: white;\n border: none;\n border-radius: 5px;\n cursor: pointer;\n font-family: Arial;\n font-size: 18px;\n box-shadow: 2px 2px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.2);\n transition: transform 0.1s;\n}\n\n#buyAllyButton:active {\n transform: scale(0.95);\n}\n\n#buyAllyButton:disabled {\n background: #7f8c8d;\n cursor: not-allowed;\n}\n\nAlso, add a disabled state when the score is too low. So in JS, whenever the score changes, update the button's disabled state.\n\nModify the code where the score is updated to check and update the button.\n\nCreate a function:\n\nfunction updateScore() {\n scoreDisplay.textContent = `Mustard Power: ${score}`;\n buyAllyButton.disabled = score < 30;\n}\n\nThen, replace all instances where the score is updated to call updateScore() instead of directly setting the textContent.\n\nSo in the collision detection:\n\nscore += isAlly ? -20 : 10;\nupdateScore();\n\nIn the buy button click:\n\nscore -=30;\nupdateScore();\n\nThen, in the #score.penalty animation, instead of changing the text directly, use updateScore.\n\nAlso, in the initial script, get the buyAllyButton element.\n\nIn the HTML, add the button:\n\n

Buy Ally (30)

\nIn JS, add:\n\nconst buyAllyButton = document.getElementById('buyAllyButton');\n\nThen, add event listeners for the button.\n\nAlso, when the button is disabled, it should look grayed out. The CSS already handles that with the :disabled pseudo-class.\n\nSo the steps to implement:\n\n1. Add HTML for the Buy Ally button.\n\n2. Add CSS styling for the button.\n\n3. Modify spawnTarget to accept a forceAlly parameter.\n\n4. Add the buy button event handler.\n\n5. Update the score handling to use updateScore which also manages the button state.\n\nTesting potential issues:\n\n- Ensure that the forceAlly parameter works in spawnTarget. Previously, isAlly was determined by Math.random(). Now, if forceAlly is true, isAlly is true.\n\nWait, in the current code, when spawnTarget is called,:\n\nif (isAlly) { ... } else { ... }\n\nSo if forceAlly is passed as true, the then block will execute.\n\nBut to force an ally, we need to have the code in the isAlly block. Therefore, modifying the code in the spawnTarget function:\n\nChange:\n\nconst isAlly = Math.random() < 0.3;\n\nto:\n\nconst isAlly = forceAlly ? true : (Math.random() < 0.3);\n\nSo when forceAlly is true, isAlly becomes true, regardless of the 30% chance.\n\nTherefore, in the spawnTarget function definition:\n\nfunction spawnTarget(forceAlly = false) {\n\nAlternatively, in the function parameters, we can accept forceAlly and set isAlly accordingly.\n\nOnce that's handled, the button click can pass true for forceAlly.\n\nOther parts of the code that call spawnTarget (like the setInterval) need to pass no parameter, so forceAlly remains false.\n\nThus, the existing setInterval remains as setInterval(spawnTarget, 1500);, which will call it without parameters, forcing the else case.\n\nThus, when the button is clicked, spawnTarget is called with (true), ensuring an ally is created.\n\nThus, these changes should fulfill the user's request of adding a buy ally button.\n\n```index.html\n```\n","page_description","The page features an interactive game called \"Mustard Squirt Challenge\" where players squirt mustard at targets to score points.
