You also should have added more gameplay-feature and actions. Make the possibilities good worked out.","url","link_url","/p/yygam9q4eidi0a_kbnmr","versioned_link_url","/p/yygam9q4eidi0a_kbnmr/76","yapping","The user wants the Hunt, Rest, Trade, and Explore buttons to work properly and wants more gameplay features and actions added. Let me analyze the current code:\n\n1. Looking at the current implementation:\n - Hunt button exists and calls `performAction('hunt')` \n - Rest button exists and calls `performAction('rest')`\n - Trade button exists and calls `performAction('trade')`\n - Explore button exists and has an onclick but calls `westward.openExploration()`\n\n2. The `performAction` method exists and handles:\n - 'hunt' -> calls `handleHunt()`\n - 'rest' -> calls `handleRest()`\n - 'trade' -> calls `openTrading()`\n\n3. The methods are already implemented:\n - `handleHunt()` - shows a modal with foraging/hunting options\n - `handleRest()` - shows resting options\n - `openTrading()` - opens trading modal\n - `openExploration()` - opens exploration modal\n\nLooking at the HTML, the buttons are set up like this:\n```html\n\n\n\n\n```\n\nAnd in the index.html script section:\n\n\n```javascript\ndocument.getElementById('huntBtn').addEventListener('click', () => { if (westward) westward.performAction('hunt'); });\ndocument.getElementById('restBtn').addEventListener('click', () => { if (westward) westward.performAction('rest'); });\ndocument.getElementById('tradeBtn').addEventListener('click', () => { if (westward) westward.performAction('trade'); });\ndocument.getElementById('exploreBtn').addEventListener('click', () => { if (westward) westward.openExploration(); });\n```\n\nSo the buttons are wired up correctly. The problem could be that the buttons might be disabled when they shouldn't be, or the event listeners aren't firing properly. I should check if there's a condition preventing the actions from executing, like missing resource checks or disabled states that aren't being cleared.\n\nLooking at the updateUI function, I see buttons get disabled based on specific conditions: hunt requires health above 20, trade requires being at a settlement, rest requires food above 1, and explore requires being at a settlement. If these conditions are always true, the buttons would stay disabled. I need to verify the state values and settlement checks are working correctly.\n\nThe core issues seem to be that button restrictions are too tight and the game lacks variety. I should loosen the enabling logic so actions are more accessible, introduce new mechanics like scavenging and item repair, expand what happens in existing modals, and build out a random encounter system to make exploration feel less predictable.\n\nI will enhance the gameplay buttons with more robust functionality, add new action types, and make the button enabling logic more permissive to ensure they work in more situations.\n\nstory.js\n```story.js\n```\n\nstory.js\n```story.js\n```\n\nstory.js\n```story.js\n```\n\nstory.js\n```story.js\n```\n\nstory.js\n```story.js\n```\n\nstory.js\n```story.js\n```\n\nindex.html\n```index.html\n```\n\nindex.html\n```index.html\n```\n\nSummary: Enhanced all gameplay buttons with expanded functionality - Hunt now includes fishing and trapping, Rest offers varied camping options, Trade works in wilderness with bartering, Explore has wilderness scouting, plus added two new buttons: Scavenge (gather materials/work for money) and Repairs (fix specific equipment). All buttons now work in more situations with less restrictive enabling.","page_description","The page features an interactive web game titled \"Westward Journey,\" set in 1849.
