I've sketched out the basics: a dropdown or button for planet choices. The core idea is to tie `controls.target` directly to the selected planet's position. Simultaneously, I plan to adjust the camera's position for optimal viewing of the chosen celestial body.\n\n\n**Refining Planet Locking**\n\nI'm now refining the camera \"lock-on\" feature. The initial idea of using `controls.target` worked, but the camera needed more refinement. It must smoothly follow the planet. I've switched from teleporting to setting `controls.target` to the planet's current position within each animation frame. The camera's position should also be automatically adjusted to maintain a reasonable viewing distance and angle. I'll need to calculate this ideal position based on the planet's radius.\n\n\n**Constructing Planet Selector**\n\nI'm now creating the UI component for planet selection: a dropdown menu. I'll populate it with all available planets. When a selection is made, the `lockedPlanet` variable updates with the chosen planet object. My next step will be to implement the `onPlanetSelect` function to manage camera adjustments and ensure a smooth transition to the selected celestial body. I'm prioritizing the dynamic camera adjustments for a good initial viewing experience.\n\n\n**Designing the UI Element**\n\nI'm now creating the UI component for planet selection. I will implement a `` dropdown menu, alongside the existing teleport UI element. When a planet is selected, my intention is to have the camera focus, using `controls.target`, on that planet's position. Concurrently, the camera's viewpoint will dynamically adjust for an optimal viewing angle and distance. This approach will replace the previous teleport method, with a system that makes the camera follow a targeted planet.\n\n\n**Integrating Planet Locking**\n\nI'm now implementing the core locking functionality. The plan is to have a `` dropdown menu. The system will set a `lockedPlanet` object when a selection is made and will set the camera to follow its position each frame. This functionality will be disabled by the existing teleport feature, or when the view is changed. My goal is to add a smooth transition to this feature, as well as a more natural view.\n\n\n**Integrating Planet Locking**\n\nI'm now integrating a planet selection UI, a `` dropdown, I set up a \"teleport\" to the Earth System and calculate the camera's new target and position. I'm leveraging the existing teleporting mechanism for this initial camera movement, ensuring the transition is seamless. After the camera is in place, the `controls.target` will follow the planet for a proper lock-on effect.\n\n\n**Initiating Planet Lock-On**\n\nI'm now integrating a planet selection UI, a `` dropdown to choose planets and integrate a lock-on feature using `lockedPlanet` for target following. The plan is to trigger a smooth camera transition to a good viewing point upon selection, while making the `controls.target` move alongside the chosen planet. I'm leveraging `teleportTo` for camera adjustments, ensuring `controls.target` updates seamlessly in the animation loop.\n\n\n**Enabling Planet Tracking**\n\nI'm now integrating a planet selection UI, a `` menu. Now, picking a planet smoothly \"teleports\" the camera to lock-on, then starts tracking its position in `animate`. The view will now automatically switch to the Earth System.\n\n\n**Adding Planet Locking**\n\nI've integrated the planet selection UI, which, upon selecting a planet, smoothly \"teleports\" the camera. It sets the camera to a vantage point that keeps the selected celestial body in view. Simultaneously, the `controls.target` is updated to follow the planet's trajectory. This update includes hiding other galaxies and ensures the target camera follows.\n\n\n\n\n```index.html\n```\n\n```main.js\n```","page_description","cursor","eyJpZCI6Imxtenp2amt0bXRvcnlnc3M2bDhzIn0","token","included",[],"about",{"_188":-5},"parent","routes/browser/layout","actionData","errors"]
